A Beautiful but Hollow Film

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008)
Directed by David Fincher, rated PG-13, 166 minutes

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is a visually stunning but emotionally hollow film about a man who is born old, and ages backwards towards becoming a baby. The acting is well done all around, especially Brad Pitt and Taraji P. Henson, but the writing is poor and derivative of Forrest Gump (which was also written by Eric Roth). The visuals are the best part of the film. David Fincher's direction is beautiful, and the visual effects will blow you away. Ultimately, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, can't overcome its bloated script, no matter how good the acting and effects are. You'll like it if: You like fantasy movies, epic movies, Brad Pitt, Big Fish or Forrest Gump.
