A Darkly Comedic, Unpredictable Crime Flick

In Bruges (2008)
Directed by Martin McDonagh, rated R, 107 minutes

In Bruges is a clever, black comedy about two hitmen who hide out in the Belgian city Bruges. The dialogue is hilarious, and the lead actors, played by Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson, both nominated for best actor in a comedy or musical by the Golden Globes, have terrific chemistry. The Oscar-nominated screenplay really makes you care about the hitmen despite their large flaws, and sucks you into the fairy tale setting of Bruges. You'll like it if: You like crime-comedies, dark comedy, character driven movies, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang or Grosse Pointe Blank.
