The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976)
Directed by Clint Eastwood, rated PG, 135 minutes

The Outlaw Josey Wales is a grim and thrilling western about a farmer who joins a group of Confederate guerillas, but after the war ends, finds himself on the run from the Union soldiers who killed his family. Clint Eastwood creates another brutal but likable anti-hero, and has plenty of memorable and hilarious one-liners. All the supporting characters are uncommonly memorable, and the action scenes are explosive and brilliantly filmed. The Outlaw Josey Wales plays against the cliches and tropes of the westerns before it, creating an uncompromising, unpredictable and entertaining film. You'll like it if: You like westerns, 70's cinema, Clint Eastwood, Dead Man, High Plains Drifter or First Blood.
