Directed by Stuart Gordon, rated R, 85 minutes
Stuck is an unsettling and unusual thriller, inspired by a true story, about a young nurse who accidentally runs a man over, leaving him stuck in her windshield, and flees back to her home. Mena Suvari and Stephen Rey both elevate the dialogue, creating relatable characters you can completely understand. The film manages to be unpredictable and is at times brutally violent, but the main focus of the film is on the complex characters. Stuck has a wonderfully pulpy feel, with an excellent mix of black comedy and genuinely suspenseful horror scenes. You'll like it if: You like dark comedies, suspenseful thrillers, Stuart Gordon's films, Blood Simple, Grindhouse or Pulp Fiction.
