"The Future Is A No Brainer"

Idiocracy (2006)
Directed by Mike Judge, rated R, 84 minutes

Idiocracy is ridiculously funny and biting satire about a slacker military man considered an "average American" who is selected to be in a hibernation program. 500 years later, he wakes up to find out he's now the smartest man in the world. The opening sequence is absolutely brilliant as well as hilarious, and the entire story is captivating. Sometimes the film is held back by its low budget, but the world director Mike Judge throws us into is so cleverly built and imaginative that it's forgivable. Idiocracy is a hopelessly ambitious film that, despite some flaws, covers an incredible scope and provides a lot of laughs. You'll like it if: You like sci-fi comedies, satirical comedies, raunchy comedies, Office Space, Shaun of the Dead or Thank You for Smoking.
