"In love and life, one big night can change everything."

Big Night (1996)
Directed by Campbell Scott & Stanley Tucci, rated R, 107 minutes

Big Night is an enticing and energetic dramedy about two brothers and owners of an excellent, but failing Italian restaurant, who put all the hopes of their restaurant on one special night. Stanley Tucci and Tony Shalhoub have excellent chemistry as the bickering brothers, and Ian Holm steals every scene he's in as the smarmy, but amicable competing restaurant owner. The film easily gets you caught up in the spectacle of the night, and manages to be unpredictable and subtle all the way to the end. Big Night's greatest strength is the wonderful characters who are all full of life, and crackle with witty and clever dialogue. You'll like it if: You like films about family, films about cooking, 90's cinema, Liberty Heights, Do The Right Thing or Waiting...
