"And when it's all over one of them won't be laughing"

The King of Comedy (1982)
Directed by Martin Scorsese, rated PG, 109 minutes

The King of Comedy is a darkly hilarious and immensely entertaining satire about an overbearing, aspiring comedian who hopes to be on his idol's show, only to be given the run around, till he's forced to take more drastic measures. Jerry Lewis is subtly superb, and Robert De Niro proves he's one the greatest with his incredibly real performance. You can't help but relate to him, even though he has almost no redeeming qualities. The story is cleverly written and leads to one the most surreal and entertaining climaxes you'll ever see. The King of Comedy is a brilliant, original, savage and unforgettable film that will shock and amaze you. You'll like it if: You like dark movies, surreal films, Robert De Niro, Death to Smoochy or Taxi Driver.
