Directed by Jake Kasdan, rated PG-13, 82 minutes
Orange County is a surprisingly well written and clever comedy about an overachieving student with a messed up family, whose plans of going to Stanford are ruined by his counselor's mistake. But, he's still determined to make it into Stanford. The film's terrific cast make their outlandish characters seem believable. Jack Black gives a crazy good performance, John Lithgow is fantastic and you can't help but feel sorry for Colin Hanks, who plays the lead. The dialogue is clever and the film never overstays its welcome. Orange County is a clever comedy that will keep you laughing all the way through. You'll like it if: You like movies about dysfunctional families, Jack Black, Election or Superbad.
