Directed by Darren Aronofsky, rated R, 111 minutes
The Wrestler is an amazing and honest film about a wrestler who used to be famous, but now is old, broken down and wrestling for barely any money. Mickey Rourke is flawless to the point that you'll forget he's acting and really believe he's Randy "The Ram" Robinson. Darren Aronofsky's documentary-style direction helps add to the realism that the film achieves through the excellent acting and the well written characters and story. The Wrestler is an entertaining and truly moving film, by the end, you can't help but root for Randy. You'll like it if: You like sports movies, character studies, Raging Bull or Rocky.
