A Peculiar and Hilarious Cult Classic

Raising Arizona (1987)
Directed by Joel Coen, rated PG-13, 94 minutes

Raising Arizona is a ridiculous and very funny cult comedy about a childless couple, made up of an ex-con and an ex-cop, who decide to steal a baby from a couple who just had quintuplets. The acting is fantastic, from Nicolas Cage's believable performance as H.I., a petty criminal turned devoted husband, to John Goodman's terrific job as an old friend of H.I.'s who stops by after breaking out of prison. The extravagant camera work brilliantly compliments the fast paced and superbly written script. Raising Arizona is an incredibly funny film that never lets up and never fails to entertain. You'll like it if: You like weird comedies, cult comedies, The Big Lebowski, Fargo or Bandits.
