An Optimistic and Amazing Film

Nights of Cabiria (1957)
Directed by Fredrico Fellini, unrated, 118 minutes

Nights of Cabiria is a heartfelt and heartwrenching Italian film about a waifish prostitute who constantly looks for love in her life, despite continuously finding heartbreak and humiliation. Giulietta Masina is wonderful as Cabiria, her honest and sad, yet hopeful performance will have even the most cynical person rooting for her to come out on top. Fellini manages to keep the movie boldly realistic and yet hopefully optimistic. Nights of Cabiria is a beautiful film that will have you caught up in Cabiria's story until the amazing conclusion. You'll like it if: You like movies with strong female leads, Italian cinema, Erin Brokovich or The Diving Bell and the Butterfly.
