"An adventure as big as life itself."

Big Fish (2003)
Directed by Tim Burton, rated PG-13, 125 minutes

Big Fish is a fantastic and heartwarming fantasy film about a son who attempts to learn more about his dying father's past, because all he knows are his dad's fanciful stories. However, all his father wants to tell him are his incredible stories. Billy Crudup is great as the son, capturing the frustration of his character, and it's truly moving to his character progress. The film's main draw are the funny and entertaining vignettes the old man tell his son, which are odd but delightful, and both well written and visually interesting. Big Fish is a beautiful film that celebrates the art of storytelling while telling a very engrossing story. You'll like it if: You like fantasy movies, fairy-tale like movies, Tim Burton's films, Secondhand Lions, Forrest Gump or Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
