"How do you break free without breaking apart?"

Revolutionary Road (2008)
Directed by Sam Mendes, rated R, 119 minutes

Revolutionary Road is an absorbing and melancholy film about a young couple in the 50's who move into a suburb and struggle to accept their ordinary lives while trying to raise their two kids. Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet are both fantastic as the couple, their frustration and depression is palpable. The story can be a little difficult to relate to, however the parts about the family struggling to stay together is realistic and deeply interesting. Revolutionary Road is a powerful movie about being happy and free, that is held together by its incredible acting. You'll like it if: You like movies about the 50's, movies about family, Kate Winslet, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf or American Beauty.

  1. Worked on this film for two years. It was an interesting experience, and I learned a lot about what happens when you put a lot of important people in the same room together. Production was pretty similar to the actual film.
